Mercedes' young talent Kimi Antonelli will test drive Mercedes' 2021 vehicle on April 16.
Kimi Antonelli will get behind the wheel of a Formula 1 car for the first time on April 16. Mercedes will organize a two-day test for its 'young pilot' at the Red Bull Ring with the vehicle used in the 2021 season.
As part of the intensive testing programme, Antonelli will conduct multiple tests with the F1 car at various European circuits.
Mercedes has not made an official statement about the future of Antonelli, who has moved to Formula 2, but the program, which Brackley describes as a 'gear-in' driver, confirms its desire to prepare the Italian driver for his first race in Formula 1 as quickly as possible.
Antonelli knows this track very well, as he made his debut in single-seaters at the Red Bull Ring in 2021.
Although no official statement has been made on the subject yet, an official announcement is expected to be made soon.
The Italian driver, who started racing in Formula 2 this year, has not yet managed to get a win or a podium.
